If you are considering facial rejuvenation before the holidays, there is still time left, but acting now is best. Most injectables will produce immediate results with improvements continuing to occur over a few weeks. During this time, some redness and swelling, particularly around the injection site, may be present. The sooner you come in for a treatment, the more time you will have to ensure results are finalized before the holidays are in full swing.

Static vs. Dynamic Wrinkles

There are different types of injectables for different types of wrinkles. If your wrinkles are static, meaning they are there regardless of the facial expression you are making, a dermal filler will work best. Dermal fillers add volume to the treatment area, helping to address fine lines and deep wrinkles along with sagging skin and areas where the skin has sunken in. We offer several fillers from the Juvéderm® line, enabling us to address a range of common issues and restore a softer, fuller, and more youthful look to the skin.

Dermal fillers typically produce results for six to 18 months, though some will last longer. You can easily maintain results through follow-up treatments as needed.

Dynamic wrinkles occur when you move your face. Think crow’s feet, frown lines, and forehead creases. These are best treated with an option such as BOTOX® Cosmetic, Dysport®, or Jeuveau®.  These injectables work to block signals between muscles and nerves, allowing the skin in the treatment area to smooth out, even when expressions are happening, while still retaining a natural range of motion.

These injectables offer results for three to four months and, as with fillers, can be maintained through touch-ups as necessary.

Depending on your specific goals, combining different types of fillers and injectables may produce the best results. You can learn more about this option, along with other non-surgical treatments that may assist you in looking your best, during your initial consultation.
